Universal Knowledge and The Daily News |
The outreaching affects of false and misleading articles being approved by Newspaper Editors and printed in Newspapers
This site is for the purpose of displaying the far reaching affects of gossip and incorrect communication. Again journalism and using the power of the media, especially when full investigation of the facts is not performed, can have such a substantial affect on people`s lives.
A stand needs to be taken in terms of misleading information being presented to the general public, and if fingers are to be pointed then the full facts should be displayed including background information on those standing in the position of pointing the finger, considering that their criticisms are extremely hypocritical in their form.
On this web page are a series of newspaper articles printed by Peter Caton of The Daily News in conjunction with Warren Hayden, employees of the company in question, Universal Knowledge, Developer - Julie Townsend, Surveyor, Real Estate Agent and Parliamentary Candidate.
While Universal Knowledge is being accused of building communes and conning money from people in its business dealings, local residents are selling illegal substances to people on a daily basis. Not to mention housing unregistered fire arms.
Approximately 10 years ago, Warren Hayden, featured in an article below had a lot to answer to the people involved with Universal Knowledge at the time as his son physically threatened, abused and physically damaged staff members property and vehicles branding weapons and firearms. He was also allegedly involved in several break and enters on the property all because of development within the community.
The subdivision development in question has no involvement by Universal Knowledge which can be easily clarified by a simple land title search - something The Daily News should have looked into in the investigation stages.
These series of articles have caused employees of Universal Knowledge (and their children) who are also residents of Burringbar into many dangerous and sometimes life-threatening situations.
Things such as unknowingly consuming water which has been polluted by Dynamic Lifter and Faecal matter. Receiving blown out or punctured tyres by roofing screws being placed on the carpark driveway, one of which subsequently caused a major accident nearly killing 3 people (including 1 child).
When do people start to realize that while it all might appear to be a game - there are lives and livelihoods at state with this type of behaviour? |

Here is the smoke screen of a local community having an issue with 10 Lot subdivision development in the area over affects on flora, fauna, bushfire, waterways and traffic, while they do not even comment on the fact that a major development company has purchased a very large portion of land between Burringbar and the neighbouring Mooball. This major development will influx over 600 homes to the small community and also ensure the implementation of a Sewerage System that the local council has been promising in the next 7-8 years. All of a sudden, Burringbar WILL be a major developed area - all the more reason to note how obvious it is that the issues raised in these articles actually have nothing to do with the community or its well being. It is a personal attack on Natasha Lakaev, her family, friends, and business associates by a group of people who must be simply green with envy at the success of another human being a single mother with 3 teenage sons to say the least. |

The employees of Universal Knowledge also stepped into action in response to the false and misleading information printed by The Daily News newspaper to convey their lack of involvement in any such 10 Lot property development. They also wished to quell rumours of being a "mysterious group" who perform strange rituals on a mountain top. Articles providing false and misleading information by The Daily News have affected these people`s ability to carry on normally within the community, causing them to experience further harassment by neighbours and business owners. They are just people interested in getting on with their jobs, lives and children and do not want to become entwined in small town idle gossip and grievances amongst people. |

Not only did the interest spread within the Local Community but the Surveying Company appointed to manage the Subdivision also felt it worth providing more substantial information to The Daily News to print. Although printed in a weekly edition and further into the newspaper (obviously not offering enough over-sensational facts) this article states fairly plainly that this is a standard development and that Ms Townsend`s land is zoned for such development. |

The false activity in the newspaper caused Julie Townsend, the major land owner in the development to approach The Daily News about their misleading articles. As a single mother, owner of approximately 25 acres of the proposed development land, Julie was seriously concerned about the effect of the negative publicity on her development. Having asked a neighbouring property owned by Rexsas Pty Ltd to include their land to allow an exit and entry point, the community abuse (including people visiting unexpected on her doorstep) and attitude from the subsequent town meeting was simple proof that the issues within the community are not about development but are grievances about one particular person - Natasha Lakaev. Julie is a friend of Natasha`s and as with most people in Burringbar appreciates Ms Lakaev`s donations and position as an upstanding member of Burringbar. |

The initial stirrer of the accusations of promoting a "Commune" within the Burringbar Community is Warren Hayden. Warren runs the trafficking of illegal substances in town supplying many local business owners and "out of towners". One of the primary concerns with including 10 new homes in this area of approximately 30 people was that it would increase the traffic on Hunter Street. Due to his own "questionable" business, many neighbours and residents have taken out Aggravated Violence Orders against Mr Hayden because of his abusive nature and need to carry unregistered weapons to protect his property and livelihood. Following the court order of some 7 AVOs (Aggravated Violence Orders) and accusations of illegal drug running in Burringbar, the general trafficability of Hunter Street has died down considerably which has been noticed by many neighbours on this street. |

The local candidate, a member for the Greens in Australian Parliament decided to also put his input into the melting pot of false accusation. It could only have been purely for self promotional purposes in an attempt to win local votes, especially as not too many years earlier, he actually emptied the dam on one of the proposed development lots and killed various Australian Wildlife who had made a home in that dam including a platypus. |

The Daily News newspaper was very recently been stirred up by a member of the Burringbar Community and other people previously associated with the company Universal Knowledge.
Subsequently a number of badly researched articles with unsubstantiated information were created and run in their newspaper which is widely read across the Northern NSW region.
Given that the information they formulated in the articles was untrue, they were forced to run other articles which simply proved this fact.
However, they maintained true to the community`s original problem which has nothing to do with the subdivision of land or development of Burringbar, it is again a blatant attack on a community member, Natasha Lakaev, who invests money in the local community, school, roads, bridges and businesses.
To quote a local business owner "The only cult in Burringbar is the Drug Cult and any further development is truly going to highlight their activities". The initial attack blamed a company and its business dealings which doesn`t even own property in the area - obviously the drug cult is trying to blame the increase of traffic on this business instead of the constant stream of cars travelling up Hunter Street for their 5 minute service at Warren Hayden`s place.
Universal Knowledge leases an office and training centre for their business activities and plays no other role in the Burringbar Community. There has been much harassment to Natasha Lakaev, her businesses, family members and friends, based on individual people`s unwarranted grievances some of which has caused major injury and almost death.
Treating people in this manner has universal ramifications and we are hoping that by putting information like this on a website, people can truly think and make up their mind about the whole entanglement. |
